We recommend booking a 15-minute onboarding call with our co-founder Chloe to set up your Honeycomb calendar. If you’d rather do it on your own, you can find comprehensive self-serve instructions below.

If you want to set up your calendar yourself, navigate to the “Setup your smart calendar“ guide box at the top of your Calendar tab in the app to get started. The app will walk you through three steps:

1. Import your school’s calendar: this gives Honeycomb a baseline version of your school’s calendar, but it isn’t yet “smart.”

2. Forward a recent date-packed school email to Worker Bee, Honeycomb’s AI assistant, to see the magic of AI-extracted dates and update the baseline calendar.

3. Set up auto email forwarding so that you don’t have to remember to forward every school email to Worker Bee.

Please share your school’s calendar with us. It might be on paper, a PDF, or a Google Cal. This serves as your baseline school calendar, which Honeycomb then keeps updated with new events and reminders that come via email from your school.

Important: if your school’s digital calendar is noisy –– e.g., the school includes every grade’s events in the general calendar –– don’t sync it! Instead, find your school’s basic academic calendar (usually a PDF, they look like this) and upload it. Then, go find a date-packed newsletter from your principal that outlines the upcoming quarter, and forward that to Worker Bee to fill in key dates. It’s critical that your Honeycomb calendar not be noisy, otherwise it won’t do its job of helping coordinate parents.

See the magic for yourself, and update the baseline calendar by forwarding a recent, date-packed school email or newsletter to your unique Worker Bee email. You’ll be notified once Worker Bee has extracted dates for review.
